Aficio SP 3500 Duplicate NETBIOS name

Hi, new to this forum and came to know from a google search who lead me to an old thread where this issue was discussed but not as a problem to solve but as a general knowledge (clearly the guy knew how to solve it) . My problem is when I try to scan I get Duplicate NETBIOS name. From the WIM I was able to see that device host has change to one of the computers name. Do I just need to just change the host name on the device (of so do I put the model as host) or how to solve this?

Seen this before, are you using the Univeral Driver? If so, you need to uninstall that driver and then install the PCL6 or the Postcript driver.

Also you need to change the host name in the printer to something else.

    Hope that helps!

    Have a good day.

Thank you. Changing host name to the printer name make it work. Drivers are already the one you suggested

Re: Aficio SP 3500 Duplicate NETBIOS name

We have major accounts who use a set pattern for creating printer Net-bios names. Usually in the form of "Corporate logo.location.printer.network port". Example ABC.US.CA.BAK.LASER.3.15 where 3 identified the router and 15 the port on the router. Makes it much easier for IT to trouble shoot network errors.
