Why hassle with trying to adapt a 1515pcu? the type 301 PCUs are about the same price as the 1515 and the toners are cheap too.

I just checked and for us as an authorized dealer the 1515PCU supply item and the MP301 PCU as a service part are the same price.
I don't know if we are getting any special pricing because we do a fairly low sales volume but are also the only Ricoh dealer for a large, though rural, area.
That's great for you but it doesn't change the fact that it's about 80% higher for me and many others and that's the answer to the question of why some of us might go through the 2 second 'hassle' of modding the 1515 pcu.
A lot of us aren't dealers (me), but we can buy parts.
A small addition to this earlier discussion re the mp301 pcu, as it is the same as the mp1515 pcu but with a small modification, so the 161/171 pcu's can be used with the same mod ? Also, does anyone know which drum/dev/cl. blade could be used should anyone want to go down that route ?
Just for interest's sake.
I would like to know how the 1515/161/171/201 pcu hold up in the 301 as there is a vent on the 301 pcu (obviously to vent pressure inside the pcu) as it runs faster than in the previous models.
Would the potential pressure build up cause toner dusting?
