C300 auto tray switching
Hi, All. I have had to replace a c300 printer with another c300, and I have run into an auto tray switching problem. I have auto tray switching set to "off" in both the copier and printer user tools. Copy function is working correctly and simply stopping when the chosen tray runs out of paper. However , the print jobs continue to auto tray switch even though it is turned off in user tools.
What am I missing?

Re: C300 auto tray switching
print driver will usually over ride the copier set up. look in the driver settings and change that if its available.
i have also changed paper type in the copier to prevent a print driver from changing trays.

Re: C300 auto tray switching
Make sure you set the System Settings > Tray Paper Settings > whichever tray you want to lock > Apply Auto Tray Select is set to no.
If the"Apply Auto Tray Select" is set to no, and the printer driver still uses that tray, it could be that the job is being sent page by page; instead of all together.
I have seen when the driver sends the job page by page, even if the tray is locked, it will still ignore the auto select settings and use the locked trays.
The only way I know to get around this is to set a tray to Color Paper or Special Paper, and set the trays to printer priority.

Re: C300 auto tray switching
That was the fix. I just assigned each of the trays a different paper type. Works like a charm. Thanks, Guys.

OK, like that will work also, but the simple thing is:
"apply auto paper selection" off.
