I have found if you replace the 1027 pcu and the toner tray at the same time it virtually eliminates the leaking issues.

I use it. I did not encounter too many problems. An average of 80,000 copies. Advice. Especially in rented machines.

    Re: MP2852 Developement Gear

I've had to replace a number of lower development units on these and previous models. The seals start to wear out around 300-600k and developer/toner gets into where the augur drive gears are shredding them. Same for the gears on the development roller.

Best advice is to vac them out every PM and if you see a big puddle of powder then order a new bottom. I keep a stock of the gears that go on the development roller in my car.

Seems to happen mostly on machines with a lot of volume or used past their five year expiration date.

The PCU design in the 54 and 55 series machines seems to be a huge improvement.
