Toner supply pump question for the McGYVERS out there

can you buy the clutch and if so do you have a part number?
Did you pop off the retaining ring
and check the clutch face?
The reason i was pointed towards the rubber piece as it would make sense since it will deteriorate
with toner contact over time,plus it looks like a positive feedback from buyers on EBAY..

If memory serves me right I saw a bulletin on the pump problem and it stated that the rubber inside was the culprit. I ordered a few of them from China but the results were rather poor. The voltage drop wasn't as high as with the new units (talking about forced toner supply), the disassembly was quite problematic (latches liked to break) and the pumps were rendered useless quicker than I expected. A new black pump costs ~60$ (the bulletin stated that they changed sth to imporve it) and lasts much, much longer.

not sure how you know that or who checks for such.
by accident i bought some mpc3000 toner pumps and that clutch is twice the
size as mpc2800/c3300 clutches..
from what i see they too had issues.
i completely dissassembled the cutch units and cleaned with air, and then cleaned all
with acetone"was a lot of surface grit,dirt on clutch faces".
I have yet to use any of my newly rebuilts but will post results once i do..
my cost as a non dealer is twice what you quote thus why i would
venture for a cost effective solution.

well i installed first rebuilt pump and it worked with no hiccups..the only thing i will add is i try not to keep them near heat"i dont let them bake in my pickup when the summer temps hit 90s.
and there is not a flec of toner inside either,,,,,,,,,,,

The pump has been around for 1,000's of years, just not in copiers, it was invented by Archimedes, but it was modified to move dry powder, once the rubber boot gets hard and can't hold to the edges, it loses it's ability to push the toner out the end, replacing the pump is the best solution because the customers down time is worth more than a few bucks.

well for me,it is not a cheap cost as i pay a dealer who probably marks up
my cost 30% ,maybe more and if i have 12 saved nonworking ones buying
the rubber pump and spending my non busy time rebuilding them makes sense.
Now if they dont last i will bite the bullet and buy new ones...but i like "fixxing things",,
i really hate the disposable way some companies do business.
