6502 dog ears

Has anyone run into this. It only happens when duplexing. Have swapped the duplex/paper exit unit. No resolve. The entire duplex path is clear of obstructions. Mylars show no damage. Any ideas? Thanks.

check the fuser

Could be pressure roller...

pay close attention to the fuser inlet plate .. there could me toner build up causing this

well then you need to examine the duplex path again. it can only be so many spots for this to occur in.

I don't think it's happening before the fuser because the dog ear is not creased.

a fuser issue doesn't have to crease the paper it can bend a corner causing a " dog ear". but it could be in the " turn around" section of the duplex path

Check the foam rollers at exit .

I have had this once on a mp6001 - from 2,5 million prints on - never could solve it!
Even not Ricoh tech's.
Customer was so frustrated he bought an other brand.
Tried everything to, from fuser parts to exit units...
But... here's one for you: I have noticed that without the rear cover, the jams and the dog ears were less frequent.
Be sure that the fan filters are all clean, otherwise you get build up moisture.
Perhaps it is a problem with moisture???
