    Baron manual part set?

    Hello people,

Does this model require manual part set for drum cleaning unit? (Like the charis).

I've rebuilt the unit and reset in SC7622 with doors open, message goes then returns 20 seconds later.

    I've checked lube bar switches.

    Thanks all.

I have to replace one of these, so I am only going off from what I can remember from my course.

Make sure the two near-end switches are not broken, loose, or disconnected. Also, make sure the lube bar springs have been re-attached, and the lube bar is in the correct orientation (it should be marked F and R for front and rear, respectively).

If you need to reset the cleaning unit, make sure you open the left and front doors, turn on the machine, and execute SP7-622-006 to 011.

Contrary to the service manual, the cleaning unit parts are not lubricated from the factory, they will need to be manually lubricated with settings powder and yellow toner.

I do remember the course trainer saying something about the near-end switches getting broken easily, so even after all this, those would be my first thing to replace.

The switches can stick if the unit is not assembled properly. There was a bulletin on them. You can check them with a meter. If you read continuity with the unit removed, one of them is stuck.

Sorry should have said I tried a unit from another baron and got the same fault.

That's why I was hoping it required a manual part set like the charis.

    Cheers.

after you tried a used one which i presume to be good running condition have you turned off the machine again? most of the time im replacing coating bar only the reset at 7622-8 then off then on.
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

    Hi, yes I did.

I've logged it with Ricoh. Will update you later.

    Thanks for the advice.
