    MPC4504 SC899 then SC991 then SC997

    Hi Guys

    Getting a strange fault
Customer keeps getting SC899 but then it is followed by a SC991 and then a SC997.

All the latest firmware has been stuck on including the latest cheetah panel and Java.

Another strange thing is that although it sometimes happens in the afternoon it also happens at 1am , 4am , 9pm - Almost as if it is just sitting there and error codes.

The machine also has safecom on

    Any suggestions?

Are the Heap and Stack sizes correctly set? The values should be in the SDK (Safecom) manual. If not, set both to no more than 75% of the maximum value displayed on screen.
User Tools, Machine Features, Extended Features, Extended Features, Admin Tools.

Check/ set the diprint timeout to at leat 60 seconds. By default this is 15 seconds.

    Thanks for replying Choro1dal

Heaps and stacks are the same as the other 6 machines on site.

I have changed the Diprint settings. Will see how it goes and let you know

    Thanks

But what are they set to?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

I had a machine behaving similarly and ended up going through a reset procedure (from the TSRC in the US) for the Java platform. This applies to machines where Java is on flash memory and not an SD card.

User Tools> System Settings> Admin Tools> Enhanced Authentication Management> OFF
    Stop all applications, including Java
Disable Java in SP mode SP5-730-001 to 0
Format HDD 'Data for design and printer fonts' SP5-832-009 (usually, verify in manual for your specific model)
    Perform SCS memory clear SP5-801-3
Return all SPs from SP5-401-160 to SP5-401-230 to default setting
    Power Cycle
Enable Java in SP mode SP5-730-001 to 1
    Power Cycle
    Install Java from SD card
    Reinstall applications.

    Hi TonerMunkeh

The Heap Size was - 32Mb and the stack size was 512KB

Thanks Zed, i am going back to the customer on Monday to see if the machine has gone into an error state over the weekend, I was also thinking along the lines of something to do with Java, will give this a go and get back to you next week

Stack is set too high, I just had a 3503 with SC997 and setting the stack to 384 sorted it.

All -04 Machines with Safe Com has to have Java 12.45 or lower to work. Anything higher will cause problem
