    Ricoh MP7502

    HI,

got a problem with this machine regarding toner end message . .
With a new toner bottle it says that the toner is almost empty (?)
Despite the message the continues working and is also adding toner to the developer unit.
The toner end melding does not come, only toner near end.
Changed the bottle for another new one, no results. (message disappears for a while when changed the bottle)

    Checked the connectors and wiring.
No much experience on this model . .

    Anyone?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Ok heres a few things to check and change which could be at fault:

    1) Toner hopper motor. This could be faulty. Over time the motor starts losing its strength to rotate the toner bottle.
Change toner hopper motor found in the hopper unit.
This is your most likely fault.

    2) Check your toner flow sensor on your developer unit where your toner enters the unit.

    3) Developer could need replacement.

Also ! Please note that the toner hopper motor might rotate the bottle but the number of rotations that it can do will be far less then thats which is required. Therefore the machine will receive far less toner then it thinks it will.

When testing the motor, it should be able to rotate the toner bottle very easily without any struggle.

My guess is that the toner end sensor on the side of the toner supply unit is flaky.

From the 1060 service manual detailed description:
The toner end sensor is checked every copy.
    • Toner near end. When the toner end sensor remains on for two consecutive pages, the toner supply motor turns on for 1.1 s. If the toner supply motor has turned on more than 30 times during the last 100 prints, the “Toner Near End” warning is issued. The warning is cleared if the toner end sensor turns off.
    • Toner end. If the toner end sensor remains on for about 1,000 copies (A4 size with 6% coverage), the "Toner End” warning is issued. If the toner end sensor switches off twice consecutively, the toner end sensor copy counter is reset to zero.

I have had to replace more than one of these. Make sure the wiper is cleaning the surface of the sensor, too.
