Remote control of the Ricoh SOPv2 Panel

    Hi,

I am the technical lead for a large fleet of Ricoh devices. We have 300+ devices with SOPv2 panels on them and I was wanting to know if there was a remote control function that we could provide the phone support centre with to be able them to assist the users? I'm aware of the functions on the web page of each device but this is time consuming when assisting a user through a problem using the MFD.

Just to make things fun, the network doesn't allow these devices to communicate to the internet at all so at the moment they are managed through DeviceManager NX with a view to change to Streamline NX as part of future improvement works.

If there's something already available then that'll be awesome.

    Regards.

There is (or there will be shortly) but you need contact Ricoh about it.

Obviously it will require secure communications over the internet into the customers network.

You’re probably already aware of this, but almost all of the newer models have screen monitoring in WIM.

You can’t control anything with it, but you can use it to view the screen as you guide a user through their issue. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

Just have to stay tuned for the ability to actually control stuff remotely.
