Scan to smb- Connection with the destination has failed.

    Hi All,

    Please can you help.
My issue is the scan to folder connection fail.
    I explain, I have a customer that have 3 Ricoh, 1st the Mp6002, 2nd Mp9002, 3rd Mp5054.
All machine scan to folder are good on the 31/7/17.
For a sudden on the 3rd of nov the mp6002 lost connection for scan to folder.
The 2 Machines Mp9002 and mp5054 are good. The folder are shared on all 3 machines with Same username and password.
    On the Ricoh Mp6002.
I tried the ip address or server name on the path, then on username/password i enter the users and password of the server.
I then tried but have the same problem. Can not scan.
All security setting, folder are good.
    Can someone help.
    (Error msg ;
Connection with the destination has failed.
    Check the setting.
Entered path name might be incorrect,
or firewall and security setting might be
    Blocking network connectivity.)

    Thank you.

Do you have the latest Network (NCS) firmware installed ?Can you browse manually to the folder from the Ricoh ?I suspect FW due to sudden change

Connection with destination usually has to do with network settings. It might be firmware, but if the MP 6002 and the MP 9002 both have the same firmware version, as they should if you update all machines at a customer at the same time, then it is not firmware.

Connection with destination usually has to do with network settings. Is the customer having any other network problems? Print the network settings for both the MP 6002 and the MP 9002. If anything other than the machine IP addresses are different, that could be your problem. Usually a misspelling of either the domain name or the workgroup name or the first DNS is not the local primary DNS.

Re: Scan to smb- Connection with the destination has failed.

Just had one today where the customer changed the computer name for 1 of the 3 computers I had just set up yesterday.
even after I changed to the new name in the path in the address book it had the “connection with the destination has failed” error.
I had to delete the original scan folder and then recreate and share the folder again for it to work.
