Sounds HDD or memory related to me.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

The machine is hanging during process control. From the service manual: Any SC codes that are generated during auto process control are logged in the memory and do not appear. Check SP 7403 SC History to see logged errors.

Hang could be caused by a dirty potential sensor as hossam said or it could that the machine is badly in need of a major PM service. Also bring all firmware up to date and avoid aftermarket supplies and drums.
