I am assuming that he has that number wrong. Maximum imageable size is 316X432mm. Maximum paper size for paper trays 2,3 and 4 is 297X420mm, tray 1 is 297X210mm.

Yes that should have read 75mm from lead edge
as the lead edge hits the fuser the shadow lines up with the itb

If the fusing unit has an adjustable entrance guide, try adjusting it.

Yup, I had this issue with 300g cardstock and a faint band at 75mm two years ago on a 3003.
Despite the efforts of many it was never resolved. 250g card and below was fine.

The 75mm is the length between the nip and the ITB/PTR points

Re: mpc5503 faint shadow only on 280gms card

    i have had chance to test 3 different machines 2 x mpc4503 1 x mpc5503 all with 280gsm and 250gsm card
all produce the shadow line in the same place some slightly more visible than other
before testing updated all machines to latest firmware, fuser and itb condition good in all machines
iam going to look through the adjustments to see if i can make any difference
but it would seem that this is an issue with the 03 range

anyone had this or have any advise

It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

No worries - but as mentioned in the file, it isn't a total fix and will cause issues.
