    Ricoh MP 2851, cannot scan to email

    I have a customer at a church that has a Ricoh MP 2851, their IT guy is attempting to get the machine to scan to email. the machine scans the document and at bottom of screen it says "processing" for 7 or 8 minutes then says error. Has anyone seen this and what can I do to resolve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Yeah Sure, I've seen it several times when something isn't set correctly.
    My guess is, he's trying to use an encrypted connection. NO GO
    But seriously, trying to troubleshoot when you have ZERO information about the configuration is just a little bit tricky

    I am going to the location in the morning, is there anything in particular that I should look for?

    Yeah.... that it's a non-ssl configuration, correct port, the DNS and G/W are correct on the machine, along with the email account username /password combo....

    I am a independent, not affiliated with Ricoh, where can I get firmware for the MP2851?

    While updating firmware can't hurt, this is almost guaranteed to be a machine configuration issue

    Problem solved, the ports were incorrect, thanks for all the input.
