    MPC4504ex - DF3090 Intermittently Jam P

    Hi Guys,

Happy New year and all that!!

    Got a strange one on a new Ricoh Mpc4504ex - DF3090.

When scanning double sided originals the ADF intermittently ejects the original without inverting the 2nd side thus causing a P Jam at the Document Feeder.
Firmware is up to date. Has anyone seen this before?

    Cheers

Was this happening before you changed the contoller board!?

    Strange one.

Maybe compare a non-default SMC print out against the factory adjustment sheet since you recently changed the main controller.

See if anything is a miss.

Latest ARDF firmware is D7795300L (v1.330:03)

    Hi,

Indeed it was happening before the controller was fitted. It appears there are 2 separate faults with the device.

    ADF FIRMWARE is on D7795300L(01.330:03)

It is very intermittent, I have attended again and ADF was working fine, ran in ADF free run via service mode for 20 mins with no issues.

    HELP!!!

Sounds like the deflector plate is possibly sticking
could be the foam noise reduction pad or the solenoid
does it happen during a job
    or on the 1st page

It either works or doesn't, I have monitored the solenoid while running the ADF and all seems fine, they device is brand new.

    Fault is extremely intermittent.

Might get Ricoh in as had a lot of issues with device from new.

Skew correction sensor is lazy. I've had two do it, swap it with the registration sensor to test.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.
