Ricoh aficio MP 2500 drum nit cross refference question

Hi Guys. i am wondering if the OEM photoconductor unit that is listed for this machine, part number B259-2210 that doesn't come with developer and is costly, has another drum unit with developer that costs less?

example, the aficio 3025 lists its drum unit as part number B2050153, also without developer, but that machine can use the type 1027 that comes with the developer and is less than half the price.

and the 3025 was a royal pain to rebuild.
is the MP 2500 a pain to rebuild?? the parts are available separately, but as i found and was advised with the aficio 3025, don't mess with the rebuild, just use the type 1027 unit.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Have a nice day, Jim

I see what looks like a generic version on Amazon if you search B2592210.
I’ve never tried it so I can’t speak to the quality of it though.

Honestly, the original Kir / Russian / Parisian PCU's are a doddle to rebuild and only take about half an hour.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Use the Type1027, it works in all versions of this platform. Been using it for years with no issues.

are you sure?? i spoke with a Ricoh service tech and he said no. if i open it and its a no go, then I'm in for a way worse situation.
from memory though, it looked the same.

    thank you very much, Jim

so, for a rebuild, you are replacing the drum, blade, PCR roller and brush and developer?

I tylically just do drum, blade and Dev
I find the PCR and brush roller go for at least a few cycles without issue, so long as you give them a good scrub and vaccum respectively.
