    MPC2003SP DF Problem

    Good morning ladies and gents.

I wonder if I may pick some of your brains today.
I have a Ricoh Aficio MPC2003SP I am struggling to get the Document feeder to work(was working before), but to no avail.
It is as if there is no power to the DF, but if I enter SP Mode the motor is working when I test it.

If any of you guys can shed some light on the problem I have, it will be much appreciated.

    Thankyou
    James.

If you do not get a beep when an original is inserted, there is a problem the the original detect sensor. It could be that the sensor arm has come loose.

Thanks for the feedback but the sensor is working, I get the beep sound when it detects the original.

    Re: MPC2003SP DF Problem

What exactly is the df doing?

There are 2 sensors in the hinge area where the df meets the machine frame.

If they are not in position, the machine thinks that the df is open and will not feed documents from it, but instead move the scanner assembly across the copy glass.

Both sensors are fine, by saying that I mean...the sensor at the back of the machine under the DF is also working, because if I lift the lid up and down the machine recovers from energy save mode. I thought it was a motor problem, but in SP mode the work fine.

I have remedied the most mundane yet odd problems just by reflashing firmware. (Including non responsive document feeders.)
