    Re: mpc2504 gMAIL

Still Having issue's here. Still not working properly.

What we have found out after programming a Kyocera MFD, the Kyocera worked, is that the Kyocera offers SSL/TLS & STARTTLS.
Selecting STARTTLS and port 587 and all is good.

Now, I can't find STARTTLS on the RICOH. Appartently I should be using SSL, but it still fails with 'SSL Negotiation failed'.

Anybody know of any other setting with the Ricoh that they could help me with?

    Cheers

Ricoh usually does not the ssl on the web page , you have to access from the touch panel ,user tools ,

    system settings,
file transfer, smtp server . should see a ssl on or off

I haven't worked on a CXX04 but on previous models they used SSL/TLS/STARTTLS based on the port being used. In order to use TLS/STARTTLS you had to set the port to 587 then turn ON SSL. While SSL is ON you cannot change the port

    Hi,

    Yes, on both.

We have configured it on a Kyocera and it works properly.

As I said the only difference we can see is that the Kyocera has a function that can use STARTTLS instead of
    standard SSL & TLS.

It is a confusing machine to say the least

I think you have have to create self-signed device ssl certificate in order to make it work.
Log-in as admin, device management -> configuration -> security -> device certificate.
Create a self-sign device ssl certificate (I use default setting with 10 year range).
    Hope this help.

SMTP over SSL requires a site certificate not a device certificate. The first models that supported SMTP over SSL required that you install a site certificate but later models came with one installed but I have encountered problems when the certificate expires. If you have a machine either with no site certificate or an expired certificate, see the attached. How do I setup SMTP over SSL on a Ricoh Family group device.pdf

    Re: mpc2504 gMAIL

    Thanks for your reply.
I've set the site certificate with the Equifax from IE like you suggested, and no still says Authentication failed.

Checking the print out it says: SSL Negotiation failed. ERR:

We put the same details into a Kyocera TA3051ci and it works like a dream.

    Garbage!
