Ricoh MP 5055 blank line

We have a machine in the field with 180k copies that recently had a pm and now has a perfect blank line through all prints. It is 2mm wide. My tech is thinking laser unit but that seems unlikely to me.

Try cleaning the glass, between laser and drum.

Scratch on drum - replace
Dirty charge roller - clean
A nicked or dirty cleaning blade will cause build up on charge roller - clean or replace as necessary
Stripper pawl or thermistor scratch on hot roller - replace

Clean laser shield glass.

Developer could be contaminated causing a clog at the mag roller. If so, it will occur on copies AND prints.
