MP 9000, intermittent Black stripes on prints and copies

Hello

We have a MP 9000 with a strange problem, sometimes during print jobs the machine prints a sheet with random black stripes , we found no logic behind this because it prints the sheet randomly, sometimes after 5, sometimes after 500 prints, already swapped Hard drives, and changed every switch or network cable in the room, because we thought it was a kind of interference, but nothing....any ideas??

Looks like a laser issue to me. Polygon doing weird stuff. Check in the SC's log if any laser codes have been generated.

Seen similar with board problems. BCU, IPU, Controller

Have you swopped controller memory?
Otherwise I'm with the previous posts relating to laser and ipu.

Especially ipu as that is what creates the image for the laser.

i have seen some overheating problems in the scanner cavity due to very high volume of scanning activities with al kind of weird problems.
Also it could be a ground wire problem...
?

Forgotton to mention: it's not only a wire that keeps contact to "ground", there are also little metal plate on the PCDU (there are several of them) that can cause this issue.

Had exact the same issue on an ALEX : 1. randomly, then permanent. It was trhe IPU-board.

I tried to change IPU, Laser Diode, Polygon Mirror, SBU, CCD, but i still have the problem with intermittent Black stripes

Any oyher ideas?????

You say PRINT. Do you mean print from PC? In that case controller would be next to swop.
