Scan to E-Mail with Office 365

    Goodevening guys

I'mtrying to setup scan to email on our Ricoh MP C6004exSP.
I'vefound a lot of forum threads about it but none of them exactly covers myproblem.

Weuse our printer with user codes, so every user is registered in the addressbook of the printer (including their email address).

Forthe SMPT settings I activated SSL 3.0 and used the following settings:
    SMTPServer Name: smtp.office365.com

    SMTPport: 587

    SSLn

    SMTPAuthentication: On

    SMTPAuth. Email Address: printer@mydomain.ch

    SMTPAuth. User Name: printer@mydomain.ch

SMTPAuth. Password: ******* (It's the correct password)

    SMTPAuth. Encryption: Auto-Select

Nowto the funny part of the story:
Withthese settings scan to email works just fine BUT only when I'm logged in asuser "printer" with the registered email-address"printer@mydomain.ch" in the address book.

WhenI login as User1 (registered email-address in address book: user1@mydomain.ch)I get an error while sending.

Soit looks as if the printer is using the email-address of the currentlylogged-in user to authenticate on the SMTP server instead.
How can we force theprinter to always use "printer@mydomain.ch" regardless of what useris logged in?

Ordo you have any other tips?
    I'dreally appreciate your help.

    Bestregards
    LS

why don't you set the Administrator Email address as your Printer@mydomain.ch email address and switch on Auto Select Senders Name.

There is a SP setting that will force the MFP to populate the sender field with the name used with the login name during the authentication process only. The actual sender is then placed in the header of the email. The receiver only sees what is in the header, never what is used during authentication.

Hdmr and Slimslob are on the ball.

The SP Mode is 5860-022 and the admin email address has to match the login email address with Auto Specify Sender name enabled.
As your configuration is using the Office 365 client submission method the account will also need a licensed mailbox.
