    MP2501

maCHINE has abou 32k copies. In the past i had replaced developer due to dark background.
Perhaps it was the toner .
Now machine print a black line at the middle and dark background. I used geniuin toner and replaced drum and blade. Not Genuin drum.
Now image is ok at the middle and light at both edges of a4 paper size. I executed sp 2-802 and 2 -801 with no result.
I plan to replace developer too but i am sceptic because thw same i had thw same problem (image ok in the middle and light at edges ) and then i replaced Developer , drum (genuin) and problem remained. also i swaped a whole drum unit from an other machine for testing with no result.
Is this machine so toner sensitive? Not genuin drum (i have used it in af 1022 and 1015 with no problems) causes such problems? Does some values change and couses this problem and these values remains and after dev and drum replacement?
I already have replaced drum and i am afraid if i replace dev too the problem will remain.

i.e About the other machine ia have some posts in the past.

it pretty easy to troubleshoot these problems, make a copy and stop it midcycle, pull drum and check..
you might have "crud" in developer and if you want to
spend time you could empty all developer unto a clean newspaper and check..

If you could mention the Developer type(Part Number) because developer and Toner used in this series of Machines are different then previous Models.

It is almost impossible to be laser unit. As i tald you before i replace drum , image was with dark background . I just replaced opc drum and blade and used geniuin toner istand of compatible . And after those replacements image is light at the edges.

    Re: MP2501

If you do not use the correct toner for the developer being used, the machine will make good copies immediately after replacing the developer. As the incorrect toner is added to the developer, the quality goes to crap. So if you are trying to save money by purchasing cheap drums, developer and toner, you are wasting money in the long run.

    Re: MP2501

look considering you had probably a slight dumping of toner before this i would
clean everything where toner would drop including laser unit..
if it s spotless when you pull it then just drop it back in......

when i was a product specialist i f..kng hated going to CQ callbacks and find the tech never cleaned optics or interior of machine..MCP

Agreed. There's no mention of cleaning the laser shield glass which is the likely cause at this point
