SP8300dn transfer Unit (poor image quality)

    Hi Guys
    Help needed please.
I have an Ricoh SP8300dn, with poor quality print, printing an internal SMC Report page, top 3 inches and bottom 3 inches of the page is ok, but the rest of the page is faint.
I have replaced the Transfer Belt & Transfer Cleaner Blade no difference,
I have fitted another Transfer Unit into this Printer to proof the fault, and that prints OK.
It is definately Transfer Belt related.
I have cleaned all the rollers and contacts within the transfer Unit, but that doesn't make any difference, I suspect the Bias Roller but need advice before ordering the parts.
    Cheers Malcolm

    Thanks Francisco
You may be right, I have the faulty unit with me and they may be on the wrong way round. I'm curious why this would cause a problem.
    cheers Malcolm

If you have the wires on the transfer belt contacts crossed it will try to blow the toner off the page instead off pulling it onto it. It runs on DC so polarity matters. I figured this out the hard way once.

For me it was one of those moments all techs have at some point.

"Well it didn't have this problem before I messed with it and changed the parts... hmmm w h a t the hell" :-/

    Hi Guys
This has been an ongoing problem for about 3 months, the thing that had me scratching my head is. If the Toner was forced the print would be perfect, but would deteriate over time, I only prooved it was the Transfer Unit by putting in another unit.
    Thanks for all your help.
    Malcolm
