    MP 2550

Has anyone ever had this problem. A void area in the print on one side. Not always in the exact spot but same side. Could be a large void area like the sample attached or a very small void. I ran sky shots to see the problem better. I have replaced PCU with a new 1027 PCU. Replaced transfer separation roller. Replaced fuser rollers. All Genuine ricoh parts. Machine has been vacuumed out. They are great for dropping toner on the slit glass. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Prints / copies / internal test pages. please specify where the problem is occurring. Sky shots, obvious copies, but does this happen with heavy coverage on printing?

Were you able to see if the image is ok on the drum?

it does it with copies and prints from a computer. Its not all the time. it is random. Sky shots are just easier to see the problem because you wont see it happen if their are is no toner there. You can run ten copies and it may happen on 3 of them and the rest are OK.

I have gotten the exact same problem on a Savin 8025. With also a SC 355 ID sensor error. For me cleaning will temporarily fix the problem. I suspect a voltage issue at high voltage board or BCU board. Supervisor is not yet on board with me.
    Good luck.

Looks a lot like a palm print on the drum. There also appears to be either a scratch on either the drum or the glass, right side halt down.

I saw that, but wasn't sure I should say anything...

People think I'm crazy enough as it is...didn't want to be accused of having Hallucinations too!!

Definitely a foot print. Probably have an unattended toddler loose in the office. I recommend a reputable pest control service.

agree with the hand print.... years ago had a tech come to me with almost that same issue.. I saw the copy... asked the tech to pull the drum unit for me....shooooo nuff he wrapped his hand around the drum as he was removing it....

try wetting a soft towel with rubbing alcohol gently cleaning the drum surface and drying it.

Perhaps it was a "second hand" machine ...
