MPC401 fax forwarding via office 365

    Hi all,

I have an MPC401 that had fax forwarding set up & was working fine but now the customer has migrated to Office 365 the fax forwarding function has stopped working & the machine shows “Check network settings error 15-01”

The copier will scan to email & fax fine but faxes will be printed out not forwarded as before.

Are there any additional settings I need to change with o365 that was not needed on their previous SMTP account!?

I see the error 15-01 is relating to [System Settings], under [File Transfer], select [POP3 / IMAP4 Settings], and then check "Server Name" is correctly programmed.

I set this to smtp.office365.com but am still getting the 15-01 error.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Are you saying that once they changed over to Office365 and you made the changes on the machine for scanning, that scan to email (including the destination address that they want to forward the faxes too) work?
And that ONLY forwarding to the addresses produces an error?

Every time I see "Check network settings error 15-01" on the FAX function, the forwarding destination set in User Tools - Fax Function is not valid or missing.
    1. Set up a new address book entry for the email that you want to forward to.
    2. Test that email address
    3. Set up the forwarding using the new address book entry.

If you are also using sending confirmation reports to email as it could possibly also cause "Check network settings error 15-01"

The error started after upgrading to O365, however the fax forwarding address is the same & scanning to this address works fine.

If I power cycle the machine the error appears as soon as the machine warms up, at the same time as the fax icon appears on the screen, even if there is no incoming or out going fax!

It looks to me like when the fax card boots it checks the network settings, detects an error & throws this code.

Sounds more like when the fax card boots it tries to send something that is hung in SRAM. Try using FAX SP 5102 to erase all files in SRAM.

You may need to use their own on-premises server, if they have one, to relay to Office365.

This will happen if the machine receives an incoming fax between the time the company moved their moved to O365 and the time the SMTP setting is changed, no matter which is changed first.
