    Aficio MPC C305SPF

    Hi all you friendly Ricoh engineers!

    I'm a tourist from the Konica Minolta board but need a little help prior to visiting a Ricoh.
    We have a client who has all KMs on site and an old Ricoh MPC C305SPF.
    The Ricoh keeps asking for Yellow toner, which the client informs us they have changed. But it still asks for it to be replaced.
    Not sure if it will be a chip which needs cleaning, a generic toner issue (they say it genuine) or something else.

    Is there anything you guys know about this prior to our visit?

    Common problem with these machines, faulty toner hopper. It is very difficult to replace, as you need to remove the entire rear section.

    D117-3303 for colour, D117-3302 for black.

    Look at Service Bulletin-012 for Ricoh D117/D118.

    Yeah, Replace Yellow toner hopper. Or I would suggest picking a window and throwing it through it....................

    Could also be the toner detector board. They have poorly designed contacts that easily bend and then the machine does not detect the toner bottle. Unfortunately like everything in the MPC305, it is also a mission to replace.

    Normally I would replace this too.

    Looks straight forward enough, but it's quite a strip to get it to this point.

    The BRB toner bottle connection board has been removed in this picture, but it sits just above the white gears.

    A common fault is the plastic coil in one or more of the toner supply tubes will stretch and knot up restricting the toner supply.
    I've also had faulty sponge seals that become partially unstuck and hang down from the main toner hopper chassis once again restricting toner supply.

    Did someone say to throw this model out of the nearest window, not a bad idea.
