Hi there!
We do it allways with the sd-card, 1. package, then checking module-fw & updating it too. For the "apps" we use the classicals, because our customers (most RICOH-user) didn´t like the new menues.
Greetings...
Yes just update the fw as you normally would, first the package (this will also update the SOP which is important) then update any modules that were not included in the package.
I also delete the default copy & scan apps & replace with the classic apps must easier for the customer to use.

Panel to 'normal' startup mode.
1. SOP O/S
2. SOP Apps
3. Machine firmware
4. Java SDK
You can put it back to 'quick' startup afterwards but I tend to leave it on 'normal'.
Tried all the methods, I personally stick with the old school manual way.
Just because it's more modular and gives you a little more control over the update process.

Thanks for the replies, Guys. I got 'er updated, and I am semi-familiar with the machine now, although I have yet to get the machine web browser to work. I don't know why you would need it anyways.

if you are handy with the @remote website, you can get your machine networked up in the workshop, set up @remote and push out a firmware update which will happily churn away while you do something else.
If there are to be any apps installed, such as GlobalScan, AutoStore, Doc Mall (now known as RCM), the Java and Cheetah (panel software) MUST be either current, or extremely close to it.
Worth noting that Java also requires the System, Network, And Engine to be up speed, too.
I have run into multiple issues when either was behind.
Note that while SOP apps are supposedly only running on the Android panel, Java still comes into play. I had a very painful experience with an MP 402 and AutoStore a few months ago. Although the panel was current, Java was behind, and AutoStore wigged out until the Java got updated.
