    MPC4503 finisher problems

    Hi,

Got this returning problem with one customer that uses the finisher a lot using the staple function.
large sets are printed and finished with a staple, it happens quite often that the paper is fed out of line, it sticks out for an inch and so its not stapled.
    See the attachment.
Did many adjustments, SP6143, SP6150 and SP6152, even swopped the complete (booklet)finisher 2 times !!
Also tried different papers, adjust the heater temp etc etc.
Problem not solved, on a dead track here . . .

    someone the golden tip

    Thanks in advance

In RTB RD686002 and RD149062 is it exactly explained how and which sp adjustment in which situation is needed. First of all check the rollers, maybe rollers should be cleaned.

    In the field:
    Do the following:

Update the Finisher firmware to Ver. 01.160:04 or newer.

If symptom still occurs, adjust the following SP modes:

    For "Example 1" above:
Increase the jogger fence distance using SP6143-001 thru -015 (Jogger Pos Adj:1K FIN]).
Note: Misalignment occurs if the paper width is narrower than the jogger width.

    For "Example 2" above:
Decrease the jogger fence distance using SP6143-001 thru -015 (Jogger Pos Adj:1K FIN).
Note: Misalignment occurs if the paper width is wider than the jogger width.

Print out 2 stapled sets of 50 sheets each and check the alignment.

No adjustments need to be done!
You must clean the joggers, the whole moving system.
I have had this once too, many years ago.
Reassemble, cleaning and lubricating all moving parts will solve your issue.
Also, i remeber now, you need to replace something, i don't realy know anymore what that was...
