Ricoh mp c8002 sc 374-04 error

One of my techs has been battling this machine for months. Started in January with a SC402-64 after he pm'd the cleaning units. Turns out that when he reinstalled the yellow pcdu after rebuilding the cleaning unit, it kept catching the harness for the potential sensor and unplugging it. Once we got the harness pushed back up and reconnected, the SC402-64 was resolved. Now the SC374-04 pops up intermittently whenever you print or copy something with yellow. Is very random. We ran 5,10 (twice), 20 pages with no errors then tried to run 50 and it coded after 6 pages. Reset, tried again, got to 28 pages before it coded, tried a third time and got to 12 pages before coding out. After looking at Goose's guide we replaced the ID/MUSIC sensor board Friday 5/11/18. Input the new values, and ran all the SP modes per the manual. The transfer belt is new and Firmware is up to date.

Am ready to scream. I went to school on this machine over 3 years ago, changed company's shortly after and haven't had to service these devices. Also, since we aren't a Ricoh Dealership, tech support will not help us. We are an MPS dealership and are HP & Xerox partners.
Our client only has ONE of these devices out of the over 12,000 copier/printers in their facilities and the device only has almost 900,000 pages on it so replacing the device is not an option. Does anyone have a suggestion or any experience with this code? I am thinking the next step is to replace the developer unit and developer.

SC374-04 D ID Sensor Pattern Density Low Error (Y)

    CMY:
The density of the Cyan reading in the ID sensor patterns created
between pages (SP3-300-002 to 004) is less than the threshold value set
    by SP3301-24 three times consecutively.

    • Abnormal development bias (Continuity fault)
    • Image transfer error

    • Check development bias continuity.
    • Check the image transfer unit.

i may suggest to re inspect your Y pcu perhaps some lapses happen during rebuilding, some grounding or connectors maybe, but good to have extra dev unit just incase.
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

A logical next step, and make sure the center ID sensor is clean (it is used for the density adjustments).

Fixed!!! Turns out that when the pm was done and the developer was replaced, the tech couldn't run the TD sensor initialization due to the SC402-64 error. Once he returned yesterday (was away for training on HP device) and was assisted by the same team mate that helped me on Friday get rid of the SC402-64, he ran the initialization and all is right in our world again.

Appreciate the input. We did check the service manual and read what the code meant and if we had known about the developer initialization not being done we could have probably avoided the SC374-04. Lesson learned.

So for anyone having this error code. I replaced a new Y development unit and developer bag and problem went away. This code said to replace td sensor and potential sensor are deceiving. its the yellow dev unit.

The TD sensor is mounted on the bottom of the development unit. It seldom is shown separately in the parts catalog. With some models you could find the part number on the sensor but it still does not give the part number for the double sided mounting tape.
