Anyone know what this dimple key is for?

    image.jpg

Anyone have any idea what this black Ricoh dimple key is for? More so out of curiosity. Our manager found it in the drawer of a machine quite a while ago. Spent a few minutes trying to find what it could be and the only thing that seems likely is a tray lock like the paperclamp but was looking for something more concrete.

    Thanks in advance

It might help if you had mentioned the model.

Any chance this user had a machine that used an external, removeable HDD? It may not have been this copier in particular. It might have been elesewhere in the office...(Just guessing.)

It might have come from a machine sold to medical offices. They had paper trays that locked in case they used blank prescription sheets to be printed from a specific tray.

Thanks for the replies folks, unfortunately I don't know what machine it is from, I just figured the Ricoh branding meant it was from a machine, but those suggestions you said seem more likely.

    Cheers!

Yea, I have found all kinds of things from other equipment in the copiers storage cabinets, etc. Most of the time with Kon/Min machines there is the user manual, disks, labels and rest has nothing to do with the copier!

looks like the key to a cabinet / cabinet for the office ... I think it is not the copier, probably the machine was placed on a wooden cabinet with the doors and the lock ... is identical to a lot of other keys that I was happened to see in the office furniture

But why would the key be branded as a Ricoh product?

I vote for it being the key for a removable HDD.

Removable HDDs are sorta like Bigfoot; we're pretty sure they exist, but nobody can say for sure that they have ever actually seen one.
