Ricoh MP C2500 - jamming in fuser

Hello. I don't have much experience with Ricoh so i am asking for your advice. I have a ricoh mp c2500 wich makes clicking noises in the fuser area and jams the paper there. After a good look, i saw that the timing belt is causing the noise. My guess is that the fuser is rotating too heavily and the belt just jumps gear teeth because it cannont rotate the fuser. Have you experienced this problem before? If it's a problem of lubrication, what must be lubricated (beside what is in the service manual) and does the oil supply roller have a role in this? Thank you.

Hmmm.....How about doing a PM on it, instead of looking for some magical solution like putting a drop of oil in some secret location
It's probably WAY overdue, and maybe never have been done - at least by you, apparently.
Bearings are probably seizing, gears wearing, etc., etc.

replace the fuser. there may be some missing teeth or a tooth on one of the gears.

As the fusing unit progresses past the recommended past PM count the fusing and pressure rollers can start to change diameter. This can result in backlash between the gears driving the pressure roller. The double D of the pressure roller gear can also get worn again causing backlash. So when you PM the fusing unit, you must replace the belt, hot roller, pressure roller and pressure roller gear. It might be a good idea to replace all gears and bearings.

The fuser looks good, that's why i haven't considered changing it. It never jammed or caused any troubles. The gears aren't missing teeth. i checked that. I will try lubricating it and if that doesn' work, i'll rebuild it. Thank you all.

it is hard to diagnose a fuser unit with this info.
Perhaps you can take a fuser from a another machine and see if it works fine...
    The cause could be anything...
If the movement of the fuser unit itself is not blocked, so turning smoothly, then the problem could be in the machine itself.
I did not have experienced problems with the fuser motor itself yet, but it is possible...

Clicking noise on these models usually means that the pressure roller bearings need cleaning or replacing, or the pressure roller gear is cracked.

Rarely, the belt can warp and cause a noise, however by the time this occurs the machine will throw a service code.
