just because it -= LOOKS =- good doesn't mean DIDDLY!

I got it the first time. Trust me on that. I'll be polite this time and explain the situation : the customer is a good friend that started a bussiness several months ago. I live in Romania. The machine price was like 250 euros. 500k on counter, but the print looked really nice. Now, here in Romania, an average pay for a month's work is about 350 euros. He had alot of expenses in the beggining and is still struggling. Maybe now you can understand why he kinda doesn't want to pay 700 USD (2 months worth paychecks) and why i am asking the questions i am asking. I am just searching for alternative options. Next time, i would appreciate some manners. It will do you good in the long run. Trust me on this also.

Bearings in those fusers prone to fail....
Dont bother trying to oil them up, just replace them, and as the other guys have said, while you have the rollers out check them for flat spots. Just not one of Ricohs finest fuser designs.

when someone is given advise by most in this thread.... then he just wants to put a "drop of oil" on it,deserves no " take it easy "

The fuser looks good, that's why i haven't considered changing it. It never jammed or caused any troubles. The gears aren't missing teeth. i checked that. I will try lubricating it and if that doesn' work, i'll rebuild it. Thank you all.

If you are going to try lubricating it, do not use a petroleum based lubricant, it will not stand up to the heat of the fusing unit. Many will smoke which the customer will be able to smell while it is smoking out.
My advice is a silicon based product. Silicon heat sink compound can be applied to roller shaft. If you know how to pack ball bearings by hand, you can pack the bearings with silicon compound.

I use triflow teflon oil on my fuser bearings and if they are really gunked up i will use a little cap and let them sit in it over night and
spin them till they are clear and spin freely..
AS that is an old machine why not try to find a used low meter one..
Maybe find out what other models cross over..I never did any mpc2500,mpc3000 series so
I cant say if are different or not..I wish you luck and dont be insulted by some of the ramblings of a few..

Alos make sure all guides are clean of toner debris especially where the paper enter fuser unit..

Alos?? Or maybe also. If the stripper plate has toner built up on the under side of the stripping edge, replace it PN B238 4291 Stripper Plate: Coat. It has a Teflon coating. Cleaning it will remove the coating and ultimately make maters worse.
