    Ricoh 201 firmware update help

    Hello everyone,

    I am a Konica Minolta tech but am doing a friend a personal favor. I need to know how to properly update firmware on a Ricoh 201. I dont know if I have the wrong manual or firmware but i keep getting a file extension error. Please, any help would be greatly apreciated.

    remote firmware will be a .rfu
    sd card firmware will be .fwu

    Make sure your firmware file-type matches the the method you are using to update it. For instance...SD card uses one type, and uploading through your network connection uses a different type. SOP is different. Naming your file folder correctly is important. You know what? Get a manual...it will tell you all you need to know. It is easy to update firmware, but proper procedure is important. Good Luck!

    Normally firmware is downloaded as part of a .zip file. The .fwu or .rfu files need to be extracted to the proper location for installation.
