You might have far less problem by looking at the green cards, total posts and rep power when you have 2 people giving conflicting advice.

There 2 registration settings for the ADF, lead edge and trail edge. Lead edge set the synchronization between the lead edges of the original and copy paper. Trail edge adjusts the speed of the original across the slit glass.

You need to adjust DF magnification not registration.

He clearly said that the copy is reduced by 2mm +/-
Those settings are for setting the erase margins and are entirely unrelated

You clearly stated that the image is reduced, so adjusting registration won't resolve that.
After reading his original comment several times it looks like the leading edge of the copy is fine, but the trailing edge is scrunched up and there is a line from the edge of the paper being copied.

If it was magnification wouldn't the top of the image be off as well? Sounds to me like the trailing edge registration is off.

Unfortunately I am not the best at explaining issues however your description is exactly correct. The trailing edge has moved up slightly so it is the trailing registration out.

    SP4008
    [Sub Scan Mag.Adjustment]
Adjusts the sub-scan magnification by changing the scanner motor speed.
