Ricoh 6002 DF Jams on mixed sizes only

Wondering if there was any firmware updates for this condition?
Jams shows at the reg sensor (006) every time and it's obvious by the buckle in the paper, that the rollers never turned on. Tried swapping the two motors in back and got the same results. All sensors check. Again it only seems to be an issue when doing mixed sized originals. Can run short edge LTR and LGL all day on copy, scan, and/or df free run.

Was going to read the theory of operations for that particular DF but couldn't find it anywhere in the service manual.

    Help always appreciated.

Do you have mixed size originals turned on? If not, it will assume the 6002 will assume that all documents in the set are the same length.

Slimslob, I've been out of the field for a while, and am probably not the sharpest utensil in the drawer, but if the size sensors in the feed tray (SADF2, p 30 i 26) need cleaned wouldn't it cause something like that? Something like that used to happen on an older machine that I actually worked on. Stupid dusty truck dispatching office.
No, wait, the office wasn't stupid, the dust was, while the outside of that machine always looked remarkably clean, the dust apparently always went straight for the sensors in the ADF feed tray for some reason. D'oh.
Sorry if this was a dumb comment.

I would agree if it wasn't mixed sizes. When you select mixed size for originals, it uses the time for each of the originals to pass the skew sensor. With mixed off the length sensors on the feed table gives the length of the first and all the rest are assumed to be the same.

    ADF Jams ... ~~thinking ~~~~

Mixed length originals through ADF verses the Auto paper detection function of paper tray settings.

Are the paper trays set to fixed sizes and the scan originals don't match the paper size of the tray?

There was and old post about MP6001-2 series and DF jambs.

You may like to search CTN for MP C6000 ADF jambs.

    hang on <tap, tap, tap>

MP6000 ADF runs 3 or 4 sheets then goes int ADF jam.

RICOH mp 6002 SP, mp 7502 SP Doc Feeder Jamming

I can't find the post I'm looking for. The above will keep you busy...

No real fix change dpi for scanning and mixed size originals but the main thing is using superlube or tri flow and clean and lube any bushing and 1 way you can on the front and back of adf this definitely will help the issue

Hi! So what is the real fix for this problem? Cleaning and lubricating?

And so what? I've got this problem right now! And this thread is the only info found.
That MFU has done about 4 million. And this problem is still not permanent, but more and more frequent.
Tomorrow, I'll try to clean and lube all sensors and gears. May be, do some resets.
    What can I do more?

    Thank you, for your reply!
