    mpc3503 scanner noise

Anyone else have complaints about the chatter noise the scanner makes when it returns to home position? Clean and lube and it keeps coming back.

    Hi there!
No bearings, allways the rails, the noise comes to our machines after 3 - 31/2 years. As said, clean & lube - OK.
    Greetings...

Keep in mind there are TWO sets of rails... Upper and lower, both front and rear. I use a very light sewing machine oil, and just a tiny bit that I spread with my finger. Too much oil will attract more dust, and you're right back where you started.

I like singer sewing machine oil. Doesn't become gummy. Doesn't dry out to become lacquer. A lot less expensive and more readily available than watch oil.

TriFlow is what they always gave Ricoh Techs, works perfectly for so many noises.
I would always put a few drops on a finger and just run it over the rails. Never had the noise come back.
