    You can remove the shaft and the motor from the back. Order all parts that are bearings or contain bearings for the PCU. You'll also want the drum shaft since it has a burr on it preventing the shaft from sliding through the PCU. If its allowed, order a motor as well. Last time I did this the motor came apart on me in a way I couldn't repair.

    Use a file to remove the burr on the drum shaft until you can remove the PCDU.

    hi.
    all that is need is a 65mm (2 9/16 ) bearing puller and triflo oil. Takes about 30mins to get machine back up and running. If PCU is not damged.

    Stage 1 : open the PCU as far as you can try and get triflow oil on to bearing and leave. we left one over night and came out the next morning without any effort. ( pushed teh bearing back ina nd has worked ever since.
    Stage 2: If this fails take of the front cover of the PCU and use the Bearing Puller to pull it off the drum shaft.
    Stage 3: Inspect the PCU bearing if good after cleaned up reuse. It will be highly likely your need a new PCU or you can use a bearing out of an old one.;
    Stage 4: Clean drum shaft with dry cloth.

    Fault caused by Plactic bearing housing waering causing the bearing to move.

    Not a big job, just a little bit strange if you never had it.

    good luck !

    Just started to see this problem. Now part of techs service routine to put dob of bearing grease on shaft to help solve the bearing chattering away and digging its self a groove.
    At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

    Whenever I take the PCU out I check the shaft for burrs and deburr them with a file and then work the shaft with some fine grit sandpaper to even it out. Kind of a pain but it's better than the alternative. As you say, grease helps too.
