    MP C5503 Slow RIP

Ok I am stumped and 2 Ricoh trained Microsoft certified Techs are stumped as well.

I have a MP C5503 that has been in service for 2 years.
The other day my tech replaced the fusing sleeve assembly.
The customer says that when he did this that's when the problem started.
We think it is just a coincidence but thought I should mention it.
If you send it a color job it takes forever to start printing approximately 1:07 minuets
It doesn't matter if its one page or 25. It starts receiving the job immediately and warms up but does nothing for the next 60 second.
The delay only occurs when printing copies fine and prints meter sheets as usual.
Looked at the Fuser temps and everything was in line.
    Here's what I have tried
    New Hard Drive
    New Memory
Printing direct from my laptop to the printer (Not on their network)
    Reloading Universal drivers
    PS 3 Driver
    PCL 6
    Changed the IP address
    Downloading documents before printing
    Printing word documents
    Nothing changed
The only thing I noticed is that on one occasion I printed a test page and it took a long time to print I printed another test page immediately after that one printed and instead of the 1:07 it printed in 14 seconds.
    That's all I know

Almost has to be on the control board, but no one has ever heard of a control board issue causing this symptom.

    Any thoughts

Is it slow with copies or just printing.?

If it slow on copies fuser maybe warming up to temp before printing or making copies

you can check network settings look for network speed setting 1gigbit 100mps 10mps etc.... half duplex etc....

If you read iscott's original post carefully you will see "The delay only occurs when printing copies fine and prints meter sheets as usual." I've underlined the portion you apparently missed.

For slow printing what I have always checked, and you may have also.
Be sure port is the IP address of the copier, no WSD port.
On the Port tab under printer properties there is selections for RAW and LPR. Try changing these
Use the current driver, not the universal
    Update the firmware
Check network speed at the copier, User Tools, System Settings, Interface tab, Ethernet speed? Looked on an 816, but should be close

Did the laptop print normally? Saw that you tried but did not understand if it was normal or same problem.

That's all I can think of at the moment

Do you have used the customers file pdf/doc to print it out from your laptop over a crossover cable to the machine? And how was the result of speed, exactly the same time as customers environment?
Ethernet mode and speed at auto configured?

Package and firmware romdata files for engine, system/copy, networksupport up2date?
For warm-up and wake up problems from the fusing it would be same manner also for internal printouts (smc list), printer testpage, or for the copy mode. That will not be the problem.

i had a similar issue, all network ports and drivers where good. i did all the trouble shooting with boards etc. As soon as i removed the finisher the units stared to function good. Did some history on the machine and come to find i installed the wrong fusing sleeve, i used the 30/35 ppm sleeve. i swapped it with a used 45/55 fuser and bam worked great. hope this helps.

In your title you state mpc5503 “rip” Did you replace the hdd & ram in the fiery or machine?
You didnt mention firmware, i’m assuming you have loaded the latest patch fw recently released?

Needle in hay stack. Would talked to tech and go over everything the tech did onsite. Everything! Double check all parts installed correct part etc... and any sp mode settings. Any user modes entered on-site etc......

    Re: MP C5503 Slow RIP

Have made another discovery. It is in the machine for sure. Prints and copies B&W Fine But when it prints color it sits for approximately 1 minuet before it stars printing in copy or print mode. It also does this if you print a config page that has color in it (ie PS config page)

Whatever it is it does not affect color scanning that part works fine.

One post ask if perhaps the we put it the wrong fuser sleeve assymbly. Would that not also show up when printing B&W? And the Fuser temp numbers are in line also.

Double check pressure roller thermistors,Had one bent at a angle not contacting press roller causing slow colour printing-just a thought.
