    MPC 3001

The customer called and said the machine wont turn on. Just the power light is green. I had him turn off the main switch and turn back on and nothing.I am going on the call tomorrow. Any ideas before I go?

these machines have had an issue where you need to replace the power supply board and the polygon mirror motor. If you look at the control panel at the right angle, you may see an sc code

I'm pretty sure the Printer light would be lit up red indicating an error/SC if this was the Case. I'm leaning towards a straight up PSU failure.

SC202 would do that - we had loads of machines in the 2003 range do that where there was a faulty part on either the BICU or IPU (Ricoh replaced the boards later on after admitting a stock fault).

The symptoms were the same. Black screen and power light - nothing else...

I am with poly brigade, but it might have taken out the BICU at the same time as some poly's do that....

Went to the customer today. Apparently he did let the machine shut down all the way when he turned it off. I turned it off and turned it back on and the copier display worked. Unfortunately it had a sc 672. Going back tomorrow with a controller board.
