    MP C3503-4503 Magenta Issues

Ok...so i know i started a thread briefly on this in the past. But this can no longer be a coincidence.

About a year ago we started selling the Metis C1 series as we are a refurbish company...so far we have loved them, hardly get any service calls. But this is what I'm now confused on...today marks the 6th customer to have an issue with ONLY the MAGENTA PCU. It seems every call i get is related to Magenta somehow...

At first i chalked it up to mere coincidence, and as you might remember from the first thread i was using compatible toners on 2 of the customers.

But now i got four more customers and they all have been using OEM toners this whole time. Plus, if the first issues was caused by compatible toners, then why would it only be on magenta?

Any ways, 2 of the six was the magenta was flaking when prints came out, another 2 the toners read empty when they put new ones in (OEM toners), and the last 2 the M PCU was misting and the whole page had a magenta tint.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE MAGENTA?!?! Do i just have the worst luck or is there something i'm missing or doing wrong??

    Thanks!!

Having worked on Canon copiers as well as SavRicoh and KM machines, I've seen that Magenta is the one that fails soonest. That said, is it possible that you're getting machines with fairly worn out developer units? Something to look into.

Otherwise, it might be a Toner density control error

The firmware fails to set a target minimum value for toner concentration during processing control. As a result, the machine supplies more toner than the target amount.

    Do the following:

Check the following SPs to see whether or not the machine has abnormal values. If the following two conditions are true, go to Step 2.
The value of SP3-630-001 [Dev gamma: Dis/Set] is more than 1.3 AND
The value of SP 3-210-001 [Displays latest T sensor output] is more than 1.80.
Set the following SP values as shown:
    SP # Description Model D146/147 Model D148/149/150
    SP3-301-081 [RTP Pattern: Set] - [M/A(RTP)_Std] 0.189 0.225
    SP3-301-091 [RTP Pattern: Set] - [M/A Thresh_Upp:K] 0.086
    SP3-301-101 [RTP Pattern: Set] - [M/A Thresh_Low:K] 0.086

Execute ACC from inside User tools.

Because you are selling used machines you can not trust the PM counters.

As another post said the mag is usually the first to fail.

You also say "flaking when prints came out" do you mean the toner is not fusing?

Yea you're right, and we don't trust them.

Yea exactly, toner not fusing. But checked out the fusers and they seemed fine and the other colors were fusing so i figured it had to be a dv issue on the magenta, but idk

Ok my SP3-630-001 is .75 but that is black and i thought we were talking about magenta??
The magenta one (3-630-003) is 1.18

The SP 3-210-001-004 respectfully are 3.28,3.25,3.15,3.36

    My SP3-301-81, 91, & 101 are all the intial (.189,.086,.086)

So i am a little confused on what to do and have no clue what any of those numbers be, not to comfortable with messing with those numbers.

Also, i should add, i am getting these off a machine in my shop that is fine, not one of the ones that had an issue with the magenta
