Hi

have you tried printing from a different source, like a laptop with direct x-over cable to printer?

sometimes corrupt printer drivers, network issues like electrical interference, etc, can play havoc with our machines....

Try to isolate if the issue is on the machine or from outside.

I think he has done that when he states that the SMC does it.

These are prints from a desktop, the streaks also occur when I run an SMC. Tried to scan an image of what it looks like on the SMC but it won't load on the forum page.

Thank you for all the input guys, encode strip and bearings have been replaced. The black print head was replaced earlier this year. Going to double check these things and see what I come up with. I'll keep you guys updated.

Head height adjustment. Do auto first if that doesn't work do manual. I have about 25 of these monsters. That should work for you. Also check your paper. These babies are picky about paper.

Print head was bad, replaced the black print head only to be followed by the color print head going south and causing the dreaded "open cover" problem a couple weeks later. Customer decided it was time for the machine to go out to pasture.
