    Ricoh mp2852 Unusual Jamming problem

Hi does any one know the Ricoh mp2852 really well? I have a problem whereby the main motor is turning but it does not turn the gears that engage with the paper feed drive so it make a noise when you press the print key as it trys to feed then jams.

If you remove the paper feed motor and turn the drive mechanism by hand, everything seems normal ...its as if under load the motor turns but does not engage with the gears sufficiently enough to turn the drive mechanism.

I have changed the fuser and drum units separately but this does not make a difference.

I think you will have needed to have this problem to solve it but your suggestions are welcome!

    Regards

    Win

Check the paper feed clutch, the gear teeth may be broken. It's driven by the main motor.

Check the gears on the main motor assembly. I had one not that long ago where the developer unit seized up and stripped some of the gears in one spot. It was tough to see but after replacing the motor assembly and dev unit, the machine was happy again.

    Hi Athlontini
Sorry for the late reply...I have been away on holiday but I got it solved in the end. Admitedly, it was a silly mistake by me the main motor was not located properly so it was not engaging with the clutch hence not driving the paper feed gear gear cluster providing the drive for the clutches.

Thanks for trying to help though and thanks for to everyone who also offered suggestions!
