If you don't do both, it will error out...

The 4 modes to change from the SM are:

    SP5193-001 to 1
    SP5895-001 to 1
    SP4201-003 from 11 to 15
    SP4201-004 from 11 to 15

yes. except for sp5895. (didnt want to disable gw scanning)
There are 2 under 5895. 5895-01 is printer invalidation and 5895-02 is scanner. Just flip 01 to a 1 and leave 02 alone and gw scanning will still work fine. You have to disable embedded printing and enable fiery printing both in order for fiery to work.

Thanks for the replies...I think the issue is that the e22b fiery only works with mpc6502/8002/ proc5100. The one i have is a e22c, but when i check in command workstation is shows as a e22b.

I rather not deal with the fiery, but i have to. This particular customer is asking for it. You are right. For a couple of dollars is not worth it, but they rent machines year around and its more than just 1 copier. Basically I'm pampering this customer.

Update. Found this in an old TSB.

"Refer to the above compatibility table, if you plan to pre-install and pre-configure the E-22C before customersite installation, or if the copier model in use with the E-22C is to be changed. For example, if the copier in use by the customer is C5503, E-22C needs to be pre-installed and preconfiguredwith C5503 or C6003 or C4503."

Maybe the fiery was initially installed on a ProC5100 and it was configured as a E22b.

Also checked all the part numbers for both e22b and e22c and they are identical.

Never thought about that. If that's the case you should be able to reload the fiery system software while connected to the 4503 machine and it work OK. I have reloaded them before, prepare to be there at least 3-4 hours...
