    mp c4503 with e 22c fiery

Trying to install a fiery on a mp c4503 (sp 5193 set to 1) . the fiery tower is labeled e 22c but when i connect it to the copier it shows functional problem.
i can log into the fiery from a pc and i was able to connect to it via command workstation. i noticed that on the command workstation in labeled as a E 22B. I have the system software for the 22b/c. Can a fiery e 22b be changed to a e 22c.?

    thanks

Why would you want to put a fiery on a office machine? Are you using gigabit nib.

Gigabit connection is required for ALL Fiery. Since you don't even know that, you should not be anywhere near a fiery.

Color controller connection type M3 is for the mpc3003 and 3503 only. For the MP C4503/C5503/6000 requires type M4.

Using the the gigabit ethernet m4. I thought the last post was refering to the m3 (the one that can be installed without opening up the board)

I had one that did wierd things similar, might verify firmware on the machine. I know there is a firmware compatibility chart on the tsrc regarding fiery compatible firmware. General rule of thumb for me is to being all up to date and go from there. What version OS is on the fiery? I believe the original was 1.0 but I ordered DVD to reload one a while back and they sent me 1.1. Maybe if you can get into via CWS, see what patches are on the fiery as well.

Me personally, I can't stand fiery on this machine.. Way overkill for a business color machine. The embedded system is more than sufficient for anything this engine is designed to do. If your customer is that demanding on color quality this isn't the right machine IMHO.

Software ver 1.10 patches and firmware all up to date. Customer currently has a mpc5502 with a fiery (movie production). they love it. They need another one for 1 month.

Question? There are 2 programs that have to be flipped in service mode on the machine. Did you flip them both? One is external print controller on and the other is application in validation for the embedded printer. You have to invalidate the embedded printer with 1 and validate the fiery with the other. If you don't do both, it will error out...

The 4 modes to change from the SM are:

    SP5193-001 to 1
    SP5895-001 to 1
    SP4201-003 from 11 to 15
    SP4201-004 from 11 to 15

    Hope this helps.

GW scanning can be done as long as you disable Fiery Scanning. See this post from more details. you will need 2 network connections. 1 for the fiery and 1 for the MFP.
Ricoh MPC 3002 with fiery, can i enable scan option?
