    Re: mpc2050 -51 noise

sp5804 - 47 is checking the movement of the Magenta drum.
I have removed the lubricant bar from this unit and checked with this sp, and... the noise is the same...
    So, question remains...

The noise is from not enough lube on drum and now you have removed it completely, put lube bar back in with new springs and try again.

OK, i thought the noise would be the friction between the lub bar and drum...
    Now i understand!
    Thanks!

    Re: mpc2050 -51 noise

I have replaced all 8 pcu lubricant pressure springs (AA063690), and you know what?
    It's still beeping.
So, my guess is that the lubri bar is almost empty, thus not giving pressure enough onto the drum, even with the modificated springs...
So, if you want to solve this issue well, you need to replace the lubricant bar.
    Anyone has tried this?
Anyone knows where to order this lubricant bar?

Are you sure the noise is coming from the drum units? Also check the exit section. I have had high pitched squeak from there on these machines.

    Re: mpc2050 -51 noise

We had these MFPs 4 years ago and 4 out of 5 of them makes weird noise not just from fuser, but also from the paper feed. It turned out that the railings where the paper trays are held got deformed while reloading papers. Plus, the paper handle/lock gets broken everytime. A mod bulletin was released in reinforcing the paper trays. Glad we don't have those models now since they were replaced by 2003s.

i dont think i would run any ricohs without the lube bar.
I placed a bunch of these and the mpc2551 series and biggest issues were
the crappy paper tray release/lock breaking and those two black gates breaking off.
Maybe I am lucky my accounts are older and might be a bit deaf so groaning and squeeling
    of machines doesnt cause concern...

What I have noticed is that if the lube bar had less than 4mm left at either end, the charge roller dirty enough to cause background streaks in the paper feed direction.
