    Scan to Gmail - MPC305

    need some advice please.
apologies in advance as I know there has been some chatter about this problem and I cannot seem to solve it.

Has anybody managed to directly do a scan to Gmail on a MPC305 or MPC307?

Thas has beaten me to a pulp! .. cannot find a way without using a mail forwarding service.

there is no Start TLS option in the smtp settings.

All the firmware is up to date.

I can get it working fine on a A3 machine MPC2503 but these little mfps from Ricoh are doing my head in!

Any advice please as starting to measure the window to see if it can go out that way!

see below the settings I have done

    smtp.JPG

    tls.JPG
    device cert.JPGsite cert.JPG

    have tried diff port numbers 468 - 587 - 25

    diff pernit ssl/tls coms = Ciphertext Priority - Cipertext/Cleartect - Ciphertext Only

Any screen shots of a machine that works out there?

    BIG BIG thanks in advance

    Dave

Try aspmx.l.google.com port 25 with no authentication turned on

That will only send to other G-Mail accounts though.

Also make sure your DNS settings are correct and include 8.8.8.8 as one of the entries

Check the Web Interface: Device Management -> Configuration -> SSL/TLS under Security Heading

If it has TLS 1.2 it should work with Gmail. However if if doesn't have it then you'd need to revert to using the Restricted Gmail Server:
    aspmx.l.google.com
    Port: 25
    TLS/SSL: Not Required

NOTE: Can only send to other Gmail Addresses.
Since it is not using SSL/TLS it will be lacking a certain amount of security in the transmission. Some don't care, but be certain to let the person know that there are risks.

    Hope this assist you.

You have to set something on your Gmail account, i remember a setting called " allow less secure apps", i'll tried to set scan to gmail with an MP 4002 without success....tried everything

Yes - Allow Less Secure Apps - is on.

The same account works fine on the MPC2503 but these A4 ricoh machines seem to fail.

The customer had a Develop machine before and the had a option for start TLS in the email settings but the Ricoh doesnt

    Thanks

Re: Scan to Gmail - MPC305

I have dozens of 305’s scanning via gmail.
First check your gateway & DNS are correct?
Next from the copier on file transfer smtp page does “test connection” pass?
These are the correct settings if about is correct & connection test is “successful”
I also keep the fw up to date seems to help.

    SMTP.GMAIL.COM
    youraddress@gmail.com
    User name " "
    Password
    SSL on
    Encryption Auto
Port 465 SSL or TLS 587
    DNS: 8.8.8.8
    8.8.8.4
