    MP6001 HDD SC860 and SC870 codes

I bought this machine from a warehouse. It seems to run well.
It only has 320K on the meter. As I was checking it out I noticed
that the finisher icons were not select-able.
Looking in the back there was not an HDD installed. A friend here told
me that there are two HDD's in this model. I only saw one set of connectors
for an HDD. The book only shows one HDD in the parts manual.
OH yeah the mounting bracket is also missing. I'm told these are hard to
    get.
I was looking on the page that showed the HDD but I did not see what I would
recognize as a bracket for a hard drive.

Can someone clear this up for me. I need to deliver this machine asap.

    Thanks

    DR

HDD is frequently removed by IT. They don't consider the fact that someone might need the bracket assembly.
Your parts catalog is outdated. Below are the part numbers added by TSB 15 as of 9/30/10. There are a number of other parts you will need like specific screws, rubber vibration mounts and ground brackets.

    D0625841 Bracket: HDD: Fix 1 153 19*
    D0625842 Bracket: HDD: Bushing 1 153 20*

    Slimslob,
Thank you for the fast reply. Does it need two HDD's?
I think I can find the screws and rubber bushings in the warehouse.
And I tried to leave you a message but your inbox was full and it would
    not accept my message.
    Thanks for the part numbers.

Looks like a single HDD to me. Dual HDD are usually found on production machines and some color machines.

    Re: MP6001 HDD SC860 and SC870 codes

Here's how that turned out. I just got lucky. I went in the back of the warehouse and he
had just gotten in an 8001 and a 7001. Both with high meter counts, but the 7001 had
the HDD still in it. And I also found 2 more set of brackets for the HDD's.
The HDD I took from the 7001 was 320GB. I ran the 5832 format all and everything came out
good. Next week I can complete and deliver this machine.

    Thanks for your help
