    Ricoh MP 3045 toner light

    Hi all!
Have a Ricoh MP3045 with a toner light that won't go out. After the toner was replaced we replaced developer and the toner tray mechanism. The machine is able to add toner in service mode (force toner) but then the light will come on in 20-30 copies. I also increased the toner supply rate but no luck.
    Thanks!

The developer is new and the drum has less than 20k

If you cheat the front door and look into the toner hopper, can you see the bottle turning when it's trying to add toner? Which developer did you use?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Agree with tonermunkeh, have had many toner bottle motors go out on this series. That's one thing to check. Otherwise, check to see if there's a plug left in the toner hopper, or the plug to block toner chute on PCU unit when you flip it over. Did you initialize the new developer with 2-801 when you changed it? Possible bad TD sensor in Development unit, swap with a different/new one if available and see if it holds toner concentration.

Thanks! I did check for a plug. I did initialize the dev too. Would the dev initialize with a bad TD sensor?
    Thanks again!

if you can see the toner bottle rotating when force toner is executed, then dismantle the toner Hopper ,carefully look for 4 Mylars inside, these actually tend to flip or drop with wear and tear. you can either glue them back or change the hopper . this has been the case with 2035,2045,DSM 35/45 series.

Edit: if toner Tray mechanism means toner Hopper unit replaced then kindly ignore the post.

Are you sure you have the correct toner bottle? Some older models used a different bottle. Same diameter, same length, the only difference was the bottom of the bottle where the toner motor drives the bottle.

With the previous model number, the 2045, there were two different version. The 2045 and the 2045e used different bottles. Symptom of the wrong bottle was exactly what you are getting.
