    With the previous model number, the 2045, there were two different version. The 2045 and the 2045e used different bottles. Symptom of the wrong bottle was exactly what you are getting.
    I will double check the toner type but they get it from us...

    You might want to double check your shelf stock also.

    When these units come due for a PM we generally just replace the entire PCDU which come pre loaded with dev.
    The only time I've struck something like this was when I replaced the PCDU and forgot to remove the bung from the dev unit...woops
    Copies would go light.....and you could perform a forced toner successfully(according to the SP result) but copies would stay light.
    Took me a good 20 mins to figure that one out.

    put some toner from bottle into developer unit ( about 2 spoons ) .
    do about 50 prints , c if quality changes

    Obviously you have not read this original post. This thread has to do with the add toner light staying on, not light CQ.

    was there any sc after u initialized the dev (sp 2801) like sc 390 or 391? if yes replace the TD sensor
