    Ricoh MP 301 SP mode

Working on an MP301. Went into SP mode and found that all SP codes are available to adjust accept SP 9xxxx codes. They were grayed out. Not sure why. Wanted to adjust fuser temp slightly. These fusers heat rolls are getting scored by thermistor buildup fairly quickly. Not sure why.

Fusing temp is in 1, not 9. Compatible toner is the biggest cause of caked thermistors.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Compatible toner is not the major reason. Our machines have always used Ricoh toner. Those rollers are crap. I am amazed how an engineering dept. takes a machine that has been made for generations and just wrecks it.

Yes I agree the rollers are crap, too soft. I change the roller and thermistor about every second time that I replace the drum. At least it's easy to change and does not cost too much.
